It stands as the most enchanting and resplendent peak within the Karakoram range, a glistening jewel amidst its rugged peers. Spantik, a 7000-meter pinnacle, reigns supreme as the most accessible summit in the Karakoram. Nestled between the Nagar Valley, also known as the 'Golden Peak,' near Hunza, and the Arandu Valley in Baltistan, Spantik's allure beckons adventurers from afar.

The primary route to conquer Spantik's 7027 meters begins at the Chogolungma Glacier in the Arandu Valley of Baltistan, often referred to as 'Little Tibet.' This journey promises a captivating ascent, replete with two prominent ridges: the challenging and extensive South East ridge, featuring occasional technical challenges but limited inherent risks, and the North West ridge, aptly named the 'Golden Pillar' for its massive blend of ice and rock.

On July 5, 1955, a party under the leadership of K. Kramber successfully scaled the South East ridge. Meanwhile, the North West route yielded to the prowess of British climbers Mick Fowler and Victor Saunders. A straightforward climb up this colossal route leads to the summit, granting awe-inspiring panoramic views in every direction.

Spantik is a magnet for mountaineers, drawing 5 to 10 expeditions annually. It has become a favorite destination for climbers seeking to hone their skills for even loftier elevations. As they approach this majestic peak along the Chogo Lunga Glacier, they are treated to a spectacle of towering mountains, each vying for attention amidst the breathtaking scenery. Spantik stands as the epitome of grandeur and beauty in the world of mountain exploration.
